some carta bella traditions shares

I shared one of my projects I created with the Carta Bella Traditions line during the blog hop, but I want to share the other 2 things I created.

The colors in this line are so rich and cozy, they remind me of fabric or a quilt. I wanted to replicate that somehow, so I came up with this card:

I love finding ways to showcase lots of pretty patterns at once:)
The other project I created was this layout:
This was one of the only photos I took last Thanksgiving, and the colors in the photo worked perfect with these papers.
Here is a close up:

That's all for now! I will be back in a couple days to share some Halloween photos...we have a monster and a hippy this year (I think you know who is going as who, lol!).

last of my october scraptastic projects

I wanted to share my last October projects made with the Blue Skies kit from Scraptastic Club. I really enjoyed working with this kit. I feel like the colors/patterns are a little different from what I normally use, so it was fun to push myself;)

Of course, layouts are easy together when using a sketch from Heather. I love her sketches, they are so fun to work with and I like that she gives lots of room to shift or flip;)

Here is what I created with it:
If you follow me on instagram, you have seen this photo before. He cracks me up with his stories he tells me:) Part of what makes them so funny is the voice he uses...it is like a narrator voice that is telling a story;)

Some close ups:
At first I tried to run the speech bubble through my typewriter...I made a boo boo, so I had to switch things up. I added my title and covered up the boo boo with the enamel dots;)
Remember you have until October 31st to play along in all the October challenges, including the sketch challenge. You can see what the design team did with the sketch and add your take on the sketch HERE!

I created one more card:
I just had too much fun with the speech bubble die-cuts and birdies;)

Jessica has the sneaks up for the November kits HERE...which one catches your eye?

project life

**the Carta Bella blog hop can be found HERE**

A looong time ago, I made an opening page for my project life album. And then that was it.

Every time I saw some one's project life spread I thought, I want to do that. So for the week of October 1-7, I snapped lots of photos, wrote down the cute things the kiddos said, and saved a menu from a new restaurant. The next week, I printed out the photos and scrapped them a la project life:)

I used the Blue Skies kit, the Blue Skies add-on, and the October Stamp add-on from Scraptastic Club. The little bits Jessica is so good about adding in AND the stamp kit were perfect for this type of project!

Here are some close up shots:

So after completing ONE week...I decided there was no way I could keep up with this every week! I think if it was the only type of scrapbooking I did, then maybe, but getting all of the pictures edited and printed out, then placing and embellishing and journaling...it just took me too long. However, I love that I will have this in my album, so I am making it my goal to do a spread like this once a month. It is a great way to capture everyday type moments/routines!

I also love that using the kits, my page looks coordinated and put together;)

So...do you do project life? Or have you attempted? What are your secrets to keeping up with it?

sweet

Happy Monday!
I am playing catch up today. Last week was sorta hectic as I was getting Aislynn ready to go on a week long trip with my Mom and step-dad. They are going to Oregon and in just the couple days they have been there, they have done so much and they still have a lot planned to do. She is having so much fun, but we are all missing her, especially Kieran. He keeps asking if she is coming back yet;)

Anyways, I was getting her ready for that and then am working for a few days, so I wanted to pop in quickly and share a layout I had on the Carta Bella blog last week:

I am so excited because it is the first project I have had up on the Carta Bella blog! It features the adorable Alphabet Junction line.
Look at this picture...look how little they are here!! When I first saw the colors in this collection, I knew somewhere I had a picture of A+K where A was wearing a pink nightgown. I found it and printed it large for this page.

Here are some close ups:

I would love if you checked out the post, I gave some tips on how to incorporate trends (hexagons) into your projects:)

Thanks for stopping by...I hope everyone has a wonderful week!!

blue skies

The October kits are up at Scraptastic Club, and this month I played with Blue Skies, which is already sold out.

I also got the Blue Skies add-on kit and the Stamp add-on:

I haven't had a whole lot of time to play, but I did make one layout and a card so far:

This is one of my favorite layouts I have made recently:) I loved the Elle's Studio stamps!

After I stamped, I took a pen and doodled around the stamp to make it stand out a bit more.

I love the pictures of A and I adore her smile! My favorite is number 4, hee hee:)

The color combo in this kit begged for a baby boy card, don't you think? Especially combined with the little birdie? I used the Ali Edwards stamp here...look at me stamping this month;) I really don't do that too much;)

As you know, there are 2 kits to choose from every month, the other one is Hall Pass, which IS still available:)

Jessica did a little something extra this month and created a special Halloween kit, filled with October Afternoon Witch Hazel:

So that's October at Scraptastic Club...which kit has caught your eye?!

fa-BOO-lous halloween inspiration week

Good morning! This week on Tamara Tripodi's blog, Happy Life, Crafty Wife, she is featuring Halloween projects. Some of the Carta Bella girls have some projects using the Carta Bella All Hallow's Eve collection up today.
I created a layout featuring a photo from Halloween last year:
A lot of Halloween collections have purple and green in them, so I was happy to see that All Hallow's Eve had a pretty neutral color palette, went perfect with the photo of my adorable puppy;)

Here are some close ups:

I wasn't crazy about the words on the banner, it seemed like too much text on my layout, so I covered them up with little strips of patterned paper and stitched down the middle.

Make sure you check out Tamara's blog to see other projects using All Hallow's Eve and check back all week...she has some great prizes and inspiration going on over there!
